Come and learn the secret to making terrific fresh mozzarella from the experts! In this fun-filled, two-part class we’ll show you the ins and outs of making this simple, yet delicious cheese. You’ll learn how to pull balls of fresh mozzarella from curd we make in class using fresh milk. Then we’ll stretch string cheese and create rich, creamy burrata. You’ll get all of the cheese that you make in class to take home and eat, plus the recipes that we teach! Join our cheese and gelato makers on an hour-long adventure to learn how we transform local milk into delicious cheese and gelato. On this tour, you will get to observe mozzarella stretching as well as taste freshly-made gelato. Taste some of our collection of cow’s milk and goat’s milk cheeses while learning about the process directly from the makers. After the tour, make time for tasting in the Cream Top Shop or grab a couple of grilled sandwiches to enjoy for lunch!

Zingerman’s Southside is our small “village” of producer business – Coffee, Candy, Creamery, and Bakehouse – and this tasting will feature some of the iconic products from each business. Come join us as we share our techniques and recipes for success making fresh goat’s milk cheeses! On day one we’ll make cheese using milk we’ve started the day before and then walk you through the process of culturing & setting the fresh milk. On day two we’ll finish our cheese from day one and use the milk that we set the night before to make rounds of fresh goat cheese. We’ll also taste through some of the different goat cheeses that are made at Zingerman’s Creamery and talk about how process influences finished product. You’ll leave with all the cheese that you made in class, plus all of the recipes that we used in class.

This is a 2-day class! Saturday, May 26 (2-4pm) & Sunday, 27th (12-4pm)

This tasting will tingle your sweet tooth as we taste through some of our favorite flavors of gelato and sorbet that we produce at Zingerman’s Creamery. Additional accompaniments from our Cream Top Shop will be provided.

Featuring some of our housemade specialties and others that we’ve discovered through our relationships with other small American artisan cheesemakers. Private Tastings & Tours

Looking for a 1 to 2 hour class or demonstration for a tour, social or educational group?

Please use the contact page or call 734.929.0500 if you would like set up a private tasting event with one of our cheesemongers.

There is a non-refundable $50 deposit to hold the date for all private events, this deposit will be applied to the total balance of your tasting at the time of the event. We have tasting spaces that can accommodate up to 50 people. For groups 10-22 there is no charge for our Community Room at the Cream Top Shop, for groups of 23-50 there is a $125 room rental fee.
