Come and learn the secret to making terrific fresh mozzarella from the experts! In this fun-filled class, we’ll show you the ins and outs of making this simple, yet delicious cheese. You’ll learn how to pull balls of fresh mozzarella from curd and milk, stretch string cheese, and create rich, creamy burrata. You’ll get all of the cheese that you make in class to take home and eat, plus the recipes that we teach in the class! Gouda is one of the world’s most popular and least-understood cheeses. We’ve selected our favorite Goudas and gathered them together for a celebration of this wonderful cheese. Take a guided tour with one of our cheesemongers through a brief history of this famed Dutch curd, and taste delicious Gouda of all different ages, both domestic and imported.

Just in time for Halloween, join us for an evening of pairing our favorite cheeses with our favorite bean-to-bar delights. An uncommon matchup, this will set your taste buds tingling and give you plenty of ideas for your leftover candy.  We’ll end the evening with a taste of one of our most popular gelato flavors featuring chocolate. Join our cheese and gelato makers on an hour-long adventure to learn how we transform local milk into delicious cheese and gelato. On this tour, you will get to observe mozzarella stretching as well as taste freshly-made gelato. Taste some of our collection of cow’s milk and goat’s milk cheeses while hearing directly from the makers how the cheese is made. After the tour, make time for tasting in the Cream Top Shop or grab a couple of grilled sandwiches to enjoy for lunch.

What goes better with cheese than beer? More cheese! With the ever-increasing number of great breweries and craft beer, it can be hard to know what to look for in choosing a beer for your cheese. We’ll talk about the brewing process, major styles of beer, and some of our favorite cheeses to pair up with each style. We’ll end the evening on a sweet note with a beer and gelato float!

In this fun-filled class, we’ll show you the ins and outs of making these simple, yet delicious cheeses. We’ll cook a batch of fresh ricotta and you’ll learn how to pull balls of fresh mozzarella, stretchy string cheese, and create a sheet of mozzarella that you can fill with anything! You’ll get all of the cheese that you make in class to take home and eat, plus the recipes that we teach in the class! You’ll go home with all the cheese you need to host a pizza or pasta night to show off your creations. Classes fill fast, sign up today!

Private Tastings & Tours

Looking for a 1 to 2 hour class or demonstration for a tour, social or educational group?

Please use the contact page or call 734.929.0500 if you would like set up a private tasting event with one of our cheesemongers.

There is a non-refundable $50 deposit to hold the date for all private events, this deposit will be applied to the total balance of your tasting at the time of the event. We have tasting spaces that can accommodate up to 50 people. For groups 10-22 there is no charge for our Community Room at the Cream Top Shop, for groups of 23-50 there is a $125 room rental fee.
