August is the very height of tomato season in Michigan, and what better way to enjoy fresh tomatoes than with fresh mozzarella? We’ll taste fiore di latte (our classic fresh mozzarella), burrata, baked mozzarella & myrtle, and mozzarella & prosciutto rolls – all with a nice sampling of locally-grown heirloom tomatoes! Bread and additional accompaniments from our Cream Top Shop will be provided.

Join our cheese and gelato makers on an hour-long adventure to learn how we transform local milk into delicious cheese and gelato. On this tour, you will get to observe mozzarella stretching as well as taste freshly-made gelato. Taste some of our collection of cow’s milk and goat’s milk cheeses while hearing directly from the makers how the cheese is made. After the tour, make time for tasting in the Cream Top Shop or grab a couple of grilled sandwiches to enjoy for lunch.

Join Tessie, one of our Cream Top Shop managers and resident Certified Cheese Professional, as she guides you through the seven major styles of cheese. She’ll talk about what makes each style unique and provide samples of each, share tips for building a well-rounded cheese board, and give some tips on the basics of pairing cheese with beer & wine. Bread and additional accompaniments from our Cream Top Shop will be provided.

On the eve of this year’s U of M vs. MSU football game we are getting into the rivalry spirit! We’ll taste a spread of cheeses from our own Zingerman’s Creamery here in Ann Arbor and those made by the Dairy Plant at Michigan State University. We’ll explore the rich history of dairy in our great state and end on a sweet note with ice cream & gelato. Bread and additional accompaniments from our Cream Top Shop will be provided.

Just in time for Halloween, join us for an evening of pairing our favorite cheeses with Mindo Chocolate’s bean-to-bar delights from Dexter, MI. An uncommon matchup, this will set your taste buds tingling and give you plenty of ideas for your leftover candy. We’ll end the evening with a taste of one of our most popular gelato flavors featuring Mindo’s chocolate. Bread and additional accompaniments from our Cream Top Shop will be provided.



Private Tastings & Tours

Looking for a 1 to 2 hour class or demonstration for a tour, social or educational group?

Please use the contact page or call 734.929.0500 if you would like set up a private tasting event with one of our cheesemongers.

There is a non-refundable $50 deposit to hold the date for all private events, this deposit will be applied to the total balance of your tasting at the time of the event. We have tasting spaces that can accommodate up to 50 people. For groups 10-22 there is no charge for our Community Room at the Cream Top Shop, for groups of 23-50 there is a $125 room rental fee.
